Some people may find garlic remedies a bit offensive so a stick of gum or mouthwash gargle is needed after use.
3. Spinach – another home remedy for cough is to gargle warm spinach juice. Prepare a batch of clean spinach leaves, chop these into small parts and brew them. Gargle this decoction as much as you can to help reduce nagging and irritating cough. You may use this together with other remedies for cough.
4. Onions – this is an effective home remedy for cough; crush one medium sized onion and add these to a cup of boiling water. Add a teaspoon of lemon juice and honey. Allow to cool. This mixture may be taken orally for 2 to 3 times in a day to relieve cough.
5. Carrot juice – carrots are known to have natural properties to effectively reduce nagging cough. Take carrot juice warm; this may even help improve a person’s overall state of health. Carrots have a lot of Vitamin A and other nutrients to boost immune system functioning and prevent cough and colds.
6. Coffee – a warm cup of coffee can easily remove symptoms of cough especially in people with asthma and allergies. Take a cup of warm coffee and sip it slowly, allowing the beverage to linger in the mouth and the mucus membranes. This will instantly soothe irritating cough and cough that may be due to asthma and allergies.
